Worthy of its very own blog post, the Autumn Festival that engulfs Arrowtown from the 22nd to the 26th is more than just an opportunity visit!
Celebrating the vibrant changing of the seasons, chasing summer away and welcoming in winter, the festival pays tribute to the beautiful and colorful surroundings of Arrowtown during autumn and it's kind-hearted and welcoming townsfolk.
With enough pizazz to be a truly international event, but anchored in delightful community spirit, the festival showcases music and entertainment, the culinary achievements of local café’s bars and restaurants, arts and crafts, creative workshops and children-friendly classes, historical walks and services and environmental education initiatives. Over 6 days there is so many fun and interactive experiences to have you just can't get bored! Outdoor movies, street entertainment and artisan workshops - the list goes on and on.

The Roaring 20's Prohibition Party
Seriously good fun! dress up as your favourite characters from the 1920's - Mobsters and Flappers, Peaky Blinders and Bugsy Malones, Great Gatsbys and Greta Garbos! Akarua are rolling out the wines and the live entertainment will be fast and fun!
Autumn Long Lunch
With the heat of summer a memory, the opportunity to dine outside on the long lunch table, down historic Arrowtown is a travellers (and locals) must do! Enjoy a glass of bubbles on arrival and a sumptuous four-course shared platter lunch - prepared by local Akarua Wines & Kitchen by Artisan!
The Arrow River Dash
This one is fun for the whole family! A 5 km dash, bridge to bridge along the Millennium Track, and ending in a super fun water slide! you'll post a time, so bragging rights amongst friends and family is on the line!

Getting there from Spinnaker Bay Apartments
By Bus: 35 Minutes (traffic dependent)
The No 2 bus from Queenstown Central passes past our Apartments and goes all the way into Arrowtown. The schedule is currently hourly, leaving town and 18 minutes past the hour and taking approx. 35 minutes. Return times are almost on the hour.
By Car: 20 Minutes (Traffic dependent)
Exiting Queenstown on SH6 (Direction Frankton / Arrowtown / Cromwell), stay on this road until Lake Hayes. Turn left onto Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Rd to Cardigan St in Arrowtown – parking is available off Ramshaw Lane.
By Bike: Depending on your fitness and experience – 1.5 – 3 hours
The most scenic route we recommend is: Frankton Trail into Frankton and then connecting with the new Twin Rivers Ride from Kawarau Falls Bridge to Morven Ferry Road via Lake Hayes Estate and then onto the Arrow Rivers Bridge Ride into Arrowtown.
