Arrowtown's Summer Market
For Tourists, By Queenstown Locals - Fabulous Summer Markets
Once voted the most beautiful small town in NZ, Arrowtown (Queenstown) packs a massive punch on the community scale. It’s small and picturesquely beautiful, has an excellent selection of shops and an even better offering of cafes and gastro-type pubs. The views are spectacular, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you fell in love with the ambience and setting.
And only a 20-minute drive from our front door at Spinnaker Bay Apartments, this gem of the Wakatipu has wonderful local markets which showcase the unique nurturing talents of the people of Arrowtown and its surrounds’.
Focusing on regional food & beverages and homegrown plants and flowers, this is an ideal way to pass a Sunday morning! They run every Sunday between 10 am – 2 pm, from Labour Weekend, Sunday 23rd October 2022, through Easter Sunday, April 2023.
Designed to support the local community, these are not-for-profit markets run by volunteers and help local community groups like schools and sports groups to fundraise. Want some seriously good homemade fudge – you’ll find the best here. Cookies? Yup, those too! And don't forget fig jam, pear paste or a local blue cheese! if it's arts and crafts you're after, then definitely don't be late to grab a unique memento of your time in Queenstown, New Zealand
Set on the tree-lined community green, which adjourns the characteristic white community library, local stallholders will entertain you with the stories of their wares and delight you with their offerings!

Suppose you’re up for a wee day trip. In that case, we suggest heading out to Arrowtown via Arrow Junction or Lake Hayes and then driving back along Malaghans Road into town and then back around to us – this is a great scenic loop of the Wakatipu which will take you past Coronet Peak and Lake Hayes.
Getting There
Head out our driveway and turn RIGHT onto SH6a. Follow this through Frankton, past Lakes Hayes, PAST Amisfield Winery & Bistro, and then on to Arrow Junction. Turn left at Arrow Junction onto McDonnells Road. Stay Straight. This road turns into Centennial Ave, which will take you directly to the markets in the town centre! Seriously easy!
So if you're staying with us at Spinnaker Bay Apartments this summer, we suggest you take time to have a day out at the Arrowtown Farmers Markets, mix with the locals and pick up those unique Arrowtown gifts for your friends and family back home!
