Remarkables Market is back for 2020
2020 - Bigger and Better - Keeping in Local
You know summer is most definitely on its way when the colourful and vibrant Remarkables Markets open for the season.
And what a great opening it was too. This last weekend, we saw the start of the 2020 / 2021 summer market season with the unveiling of Remarkables Markets new waharoa (gateway) by Steve Solomon of Nhāi Tahu and a fantastic turn out of 65+ stores. To mark the occasion, the Wiatatia singers and the Wakatipu High School Kapa Haka groups delivered fantastic welcoming performances which set the tone for a great day out!
Now as locals, we love this market, and the journey it has taken over the last 11 years. Moving from strength to strength with new stores there is no better place to be on a Saturday morning - coffee, breakfast, music + friends = a great relaxing morning.
Details:
Remarkables Market is OPEN from Saturday 3 October for a 27 week Summer Season until 3 April 2021 (Easter), 9am - 2pm each Saturday.
Please note, they will only open on the weekends when Queenstown is at Alert Level 1.
Location: Hawthorne Drive, Frankton, Queenstown - Literally follow your nose past the airport to The Remarkables Park Shopping Centre and then on a little further to the Red Barn on your left. There is parking before the barn on your left, or head down the road just past the barn (again on your left) and you'll see a parking attendant who'll help direct you to an easy parking location.
Tip: Save your appetite for the markets. There are always loads of very scrumptious fresh farm food represented at the market - pork belly burgers, free range bacon butties, cakes, tea and coffee! Save yourself for the taste of 'rural kiw
