About the Course

Very much a locals’ course with a warm touch of international class, you can play amongst living history at this spectacular golf course that follows its natural curves and blends the natural habitat with the fairways.

There has been a course of some nature on the boundaries of historic Arrowtown since 1911, with the current 9-hole course having been forged by volunteer’s hands wielding rakes, shovels and hand mowers in 1935/36. In 1971, a further 9 holes were developed on the other side of the road lending to what we now enjoy as the 18 hole Arrowtown Golf course.

This is a course to savour and enjoy. It's available to be played ‘all year round’ and is said to offer complicated and challenging greens. Fairways are threaded between tiny valleys, boulders and gorges. Each green has a ‘story’, which is part of experiencing a days play on this course. Nestled at the base of the Crown range, 5 minutes from the Arrowtown Historical Centre and only 20 minutes from Queenstown, this is a picture perfect way to explore the best of golfing in this region.

One golf review site described the course as ‘old school, quirky lay of the land golf that doesn’t really follow modern architecture, templates or standard holes’, further adding that it is ‘the most underrated club in New Zealand’.
