Summer Vibes at Queenstown's Festivals
Summer is here, and it's time to enjoy fine wine, scrumptious food, great music and a relaxed vibe with the Roam Central Festival.
Created by the Central Otago Wine Growers Association, this 4-day long weekend in Central Otago celebrates its finest wines, growers, and chefs. The four-day event features a wine and food festival in Gibbston on January 28 and is complemented by another three days of wine and food-related events throughout the weekend. The festival has been designed around the premise of allowing visitors to interact with the wine personally, the wine producers and the chefs.
All the events are an easy commute from our apartments, so if you need help with directions, pop into reception, and we'll help you find your way! The events schedule can be found here, but an overview is as below:
1. Roam Together - Pinot Central, January 27-29
A schedule of exciting events that includes hands-on classes, intimate tastings, cooking demonstrations, a Virtual Roam, ticketing and transport hub.
2. Roam Around Town - Wine & Dine, January 26-28
Local restaurants will pair up with four local wineries, providing guests with a unique four-course wine and food-matched dinner. This is a perfect opportunity to explore new flavour combinations and meet new people!
3. Roam the Valley - Wine & Food Festival, 28 January
This is the big one - an incredible lineup of local talent comes together on the stunning grounds of Cargo Cellar Door in Gibbston. Roam each themed zone to explore new tastes and talent around Central Otago. Let the afternoon roll into the early evening and savour what promises to be one of our district’s most unforgettable events.
4. Roam the Vines - Brunch in the Vineyards, January 29
Selected local vineyards will host a relaxing brunch among the vines to wrap up the four-day celebration. This is an excellent opportunity to try some new wines and meet other wine enthusiasts!
